Policies regarding

cookies, content & advertising

The World of Radio web site is totally independent of all manufacturers and distributors. We hope to provide helpful and balanced advice to anyone working in or interested in the world of radio. Where we review or recommend a product it is based purely on our own personal view and impressions when we tried the product.

World of Radio never knowingly misleads our readers, and so we do not accept any 'paid for' editorial matter, nor is any of the material on any the pages on the World of Radio site copied from, or supplied by, any other party.

The World of Radio web site is partially funded by affiliate links. When we link to products or services, we sometimes accept a small sales commission if you purchase from them. This applies to a small percentage of the products on the site, most links are provided purely as a service to our readers.

We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, which is an affiliate advertising program. We earn advertising fees by offering some links to Amazon.com and affiliated websites where we think our readers may be helped by this and who appreciate links to track down hard to obtain radio items. As an Amazon Associate, we may earn from qualifying purchases when you click through from our pages. This is valuable income which part covers our operational costs and makes it possible for us to provide you with the other materials on the web site.

OWNERSHIP and CONTROL

The World of Radio site is owned and operated by World of Radio Limited, a limited liability company registered in England and Wales, no 08503418, whose registered office is at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. The company can be contacted by email at “office@worldofradio.co.uk” . The company does not retain information about visitors to its websites, except any delivery and payment information needed if items are purchased through the website.

DELIVERY

Items ordered direct from World of Radio Ltd are always dispatched immediately by regular Royal Mail or Parcel Force, but the method of delivery is at our discretion unless otherwise stipulated at time of ordering. Any additonal costs, shall be paid by the customer at the time of ordering.

VAT and the EU

Where items are subject to VAT this is included in the price we sell at, which is why some items such as books cost more to sell to EU countries than they do to ship to, for example, the USA. The EU countries levy either a 9% or a 19% extra (supplementary) charge for a 'learning tax', which they disguise as VAT. We have no other legal option but to pass this charge on to our customers.

Data Protection Officer

We have not appointed a Data Protection officer as we do not fall withinm the categories of controllers and processors required to appoint such an official under Article 37 of the GDPR.

Your Data

If you buy any goods or services via a link on our websites, you may be asked to provide your name, address and payment details necessary to transact business.

Payments details are stored and processed only by the supplier and World of Radio does not store, share or have any access to such information.

Where you provide contact information, such as to join a Mailing List, this is stored encrypted by professional Mailing List handlers, who have assured us that they to not share, sell or otherwise dispose of any details. You are at always at liberty to request deletion of any or all the parts of any information you have provided to us or our Mailing List handlers.

Data will not be used by World of Radio in any other way than otherwise provided for in our Terms and Conditions. It will not be stored longer than is necessary for the reasons or purposes described above.

Please note that we are not legally responsible for and have no control over policies and practives of sites that are owned and operated by others.

Disclosures

World of Radio, its agents and emplyees will not disclose your data with any other party, except in the event that

the law demands that we do so,
to prove or protect our legal rights,
to buyers or potential buyers of our company in the event that we are selling the company,
we are required to do so for any legal proceedings.

Data Protection

We take utmost care to protect your data by only retaining that which is absoluteley necessary, only retaining it for the shortest possible time. We also fully encrypt all data sent to us and ensure that none of it is stored on any database that is accesible from the public internet.

For users in the European Union, we adhere to the regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR). For users in the United Kingdom, we adhere to the GDPR, as enshrined in the Data Protection Act 2018.
